Endeavour replica’s voyage to end with Scott Morrison being killed by angry Hawaiians

Indigenous peoples around the world seem pleased with this commemoration of Cook’s history.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has given more details about the government-funded voyage retracing the journey of Captain Cook, revealing that the trip will end with him being killed by angry Hawaiians after trying to kidnap a national indigenous leader.

Morrison said the commemorative journey of a replica Endeavour will be recreated with one hundred percent accuracy to honour all sides of Cook: the sailor, the coloniser, the short-tempered arsehole and the dead cocky white guy.

“If we’re going to recreate Cook’s legacy, let’s do it accurately.”

In the reenactment, a group of sailors including Morrison will go ashore and attempt to kidnap a local king to hold hostage, just as Cook did to Kalani’ōpu’u, King of Hawaii in 1779. They will then be confronted by the king’s family and killed on the beach.

Indigenous peoples around the world seem pleased with this particular commemoration of Cook’s history.

“It’s good to see that the Prime Minister is so committed to representing history in all its details,” a descendent of Kalani’ōpu’u commented in Hawaii today.

That’s not all this voyage will accurately recreate.

Along its trip, the crew of this replica Endeavour will periodically go ashore to set up colonies, steal land and produce, kill local people and introduce various illnesses to the vulnerable population.
